I like the warm rich colors, the bizarre serpent warriors, the queen who is a serpent herself. It reminds me of a Miyazaki film, totally out of our own reality. The pages are also intricately, elaborated designed, as artist David B. is clearly having fun, and working his tail off, to make this a totally unique graphic novel.

Translated from the first French edition. David B. is one of France's finest cartoonists and co-founder of the legendary L'Association collective. He is the author of many books of comics including The Armed Garden, Nocturnal Conspiracies, and Epileptic, which was awarded the Angouleme International Comics Festival Prize for Scenario, and the Ignatz Award for Outstanding Artist.

Nocturnal Conspiracies was nominated for the L.A. Times Book Prize and the Eisner Award. David lives and works in Orléans, France.
