Five more seminal issues, each 52-page, of the very first ongoing horror comic. Includes art by the notorious Paul Gatusso (Dr. Fredric Wertham used Gatusso's work as an example of cruelty in comics for his book 'Seduction of the Innocent'), John Celardo, Bob Lubbers, Charles Sultan, John Belfi, Bob Jenny, Jon Blummer, and even a story by EC's Johnny Craig and Harry Lazarus!

The exceptional writer and editor Richard Hughes pens many of these interesting stories. Titles include "The Ape Demon,: "The Mummy's Cloth," "The World Beyond the Mirror," "The Thing from the Bottom of the Sea," "The Man in the Mirror," and the continuing series, started in Volume 1, "The Spirit of Frankenstein." Also here are some great early covers. In the introduction Crowther looks at E. Nelson Bridwell, who has a fan letter here, then a text story, and went on to become one of the very first fans-turned-pro and had a long career at DC Comics.

This is an entirely separate new series from the Dark Horse collections--those collect FOUR issues each book--these collect FIVE issues. Published by PS Art Books in England, this series also includes special features, such as the 5-page illustrated look at E. Nelson Bridwell in this issue.
