Weird, mysterious and spine-tingling tales from ACG's flagship title that kicked off horror comics in 1948. No records exist of who wrote what, but we know the excellent Richard Hughes, along with being editor, wrote many of these offbeat tales. The level of artwork is quite good here, a notch above earlier issues and works well with the ever-interesting stories, and with an occasional time travel or sci-fi story in the mix.
Art is from the talented Canadian artist Edmond Good, the excellent Robert McCarty, and Ken Landau. Ken Bald, Pete Riss, Lin Streeter, Charles Nicholas, DC regular Bernard Sachs, and even Stan Lee's stalwart from Atlas, Bob Forgione.
Some outstanding artwork by Jon Blummer--it's interesting that here he looks very much like Catman artist Charles Quinlain, while his style was different as the go-to artist for both Fiction House's good girl books and for Classics Illustrated throughout the 1940s and early 1950s. I
This ninth volume has been meticulously compiled from the original source material and painstakingly digitally restored.
