One of the finest artists in comics, Kane first made his name with his 1960s work on Green Lantern and The Atom. After working at Marvel Comics in the 1970s he returned to DC in the 1980s to illustrate Superman, including the "Untold Stories of Krypton" series, also here. Kane is best when he's inking his own pencils--and he does it on ALL these stories. Guest stars: The Flash, The Atom, the Teen Titans, Hawkman and Animal Man.
At Marvel in the 1970s, Kane broke out of his somewhat conservative mode on titles including The Amazing Spider-Man, Conan and others. Then Kane shifted to animation, where he served as a character designer on the 1988 Superman animated TV series. This collections finds him back at DC, this time doing DC's top characters and in full control as he brought a dynamism and excitement to the artwork not seen from other creators. Here is Kane at his best, drawing beautiful women, great futuristic sci-fi, and totally cool giant robots (including Braniac in a robotic suit). We like it!
Kane even writes a few of these stories, which is fun to see.
