- Full Description
Over the years, many artists have contributed to the look of one of the most iconic characters in popular culture: Batman. The most influential and popular may be Neal Adams, who in the late 1960s put the Caped Crusader back in the shadows and updated his image for a new generation of fans. Now Adams' moody tales of the Dark Knight from the early 1970s are collected in trade paperback again, including a team-up story co-starring Deadman and the debut of the bestial Man-Bat.
Along with the cover for each of these collected stories, there is a bonus section of MORE Adams covers, 28 more in fact, from titles including Batman, Detective, Brave and the Bold, and World's Finest.
Other contributors include Denny O'Neil, Mike Friedrich, Frank Robbins, Len Wein and Marv Wolfman, all the guys who wrote these stories. Adams provides all the pencils and Dick Giordano is the inker on the stories that Adams himself did not ink.
Stories include "The Secret of the Waiting Graves," "The Silent Night of Batman," "Challenge of the Man-Bat," "Man or Bat?" "Ghost of the Killer Skies," "Marriage: Impossible," "Red Water, Crimson Death," "The House that Haunted Batman," and "A Vow from the Grave."
