Two brothers of differing rank have to make extraordinary sacrifices in the line of the toughest duty. A true story of courage under fire; a of a blistering World War II naval battle. Illustrated by Hugo Pratt, one of the world’s most renowned comic book artists. This marks the beginning of the Treasury of British Comics mission to return all of Pratt’s UK work to print. This has never before been collected. First published in War at Sea Picture Library, 1963. Introduction by Ben Smith.

The first in a major series of new collections bringing the long lost UK war comics of Italian art maestro Hugo Pratt to the public in handsome new editions. This includes the covers to the original 1963 edition, and a new cover done for the 1975 reprinting, both in color. It also includes four pages of smaller pages, which show how some of the panels and pages were altered for the 1975 reprinting. In the introduction, Smith explains how Fleetway, the original publisher, was never interested in creating albums (or books) from its material. That explains why this has never before been collected.

But Ben Smith, who wrote the introduction, and his company acquired all the rights to 2000 A.D. to save it from cancellation. Since then, they've been working to acquire rights to Fleetway's other material, and this is the first blush of collecting that work into modern editions.

"A Take on WWII that is as thought-provoking as it is a visual masterpiece." -The Beat
