Closeout Price! Highly Recommended. By Nick Cardy. Renowned commercial artist, illustrator, designer from DC Comics' golden days -- all of these describe Nick Cardy. In fact, what has always made his work stand out in all of these venues and more, is his sense of design, storytelling ... and of course his sense of humor. In "Wit-Lash" (a take off on his run on "Bat-Lash," which was also full of humor), we take a look at Nick's sterling wit, while delving into the background of this amazing artist, and looking at some of his works that have not been explored in any other tome, along the way.

Here's a new interview by Brian Stroud, superbly detailed pencils for Bat Lash, Aquaman (prelim for a painting), a 1950 Tarzan drawing, a Batman specialty piece, a self portrait with his DC characters (shown here), Superman and Aquaman color pencil studies, a TV Guide color piece for TV show "All in the Family," a collage of movie stars including Burt Reynolds, Liza Minelli and Marlon Brando,  a favorite cover for Marvel's Crazy magazine, personal Christmas cards, a chapter on his political cartoons, and a four page "autobiography," in pencil comics form, very much like Eisner's similar work, looking at Cardy's life as a kid in New York's Lower East Side.

We scored a case of these from a single source, all still in original shrink-wrap. We're pricing these below anything we found on the internet.
