Excellent six-page Introduction by Timothy Truman, who with writer Chuck Dixon and artists Tom Yeates and Dave Stevens crafted a major revival for Airboy and Valkyrie in the 1980s.

From battling Nazi flyers in World War II, Airboy moved on to a unique mix of stories featuring evil dictators, strange animal menaces (rats!) and out-and-out horror as the title adapted to the early 1950s horror craze. It became one of the Golden Age's longest running characters, from his origin in 1942 all the way to 1953.

The fine artwork by Fred Kida collected in this volume inspired comic greats such as Alex Toth. For the first time, their complete adventures are digitally restored and reprinted in one volume, collecting Air Fighters Comics Vol 1 #12, Vol 2 #2 and #7, Airboy Comics Vol 2 #12, Vol 3 #6 and 12, Vol 4 #10, and Vol 9 #2.
