For the first time ever, explore the complete visual history of DC Comics variant comic book covers...including new, exclusive cover art by Frank Cho. DC cover art is some of the most celebrated in comics, but who can keep up with them all? Now you can explore the world of these alternative works of art, with insight into the design process from leading comic artists and industry experts. Featured artists also include Frank Miller, Neal Adams, Darwyn Cooke, Dave Johnson, Mike Allred, Dan Panosian, Jock and Brian Bolland.

This starts with the history of variant covers, taking us back to the early 2000's. Then we examine themed variants and explore these in 25 chapters. These include Detective #27 Milestone, Batman '66, Mad Magazine, Darwyn Cooke, DC Bombshells, The Flash's, Joker's and Green Lantern's 75, Movie Posters, Teen Titans Go!, Monster Variants, John Romita Jr., The Dark Knight III: The Master Race, Batman, Teenage Mutant Ninjas, Convergence, Harley's Little Black Book, New 52 Hits #53, Neal Adams and DC Rebirth.

And there's more: Convention Variants, Character Variants, and Alternate Visions are also explored. Handsomely laid out, with complete credits for each piece of art, some reproduced in glorious full page, others several to a page. Lots of text to put each one in perspective. And there is more Frank Cho art inside.

In a white and silver binding, with a black and white version sans text of Cho's jacket cover on the actual book cover. The jacket features the same art in full color, with four top tier covers on the back of the jacket, which we've pictured here.

Note: We normally like to discount items like this, and we would if this was a regular DC Comics publication. It's not...it's published with the imprint of Insight Studios, Frank Cho's own company, and unfortunately we receive a lower discount on it.

Jacket has tiny wear mark on the spine or corner.
