The DC heroes' most notorious foes, from the famous to the forgotten. The Signalman, the Puppeteer, Clock King, the Joker, the Mist, Captain Cold, the Ghost, Solomon Grundy...25 wild baddies in all. Origin stories from vintage 1940s comics: Action Comics #57 & 69; Adventures Comics #72 & 77; All-American Comics #77; Batman #25, 84 & 112; Doll Man Quarterly #15; Flash Comics #86, 90 & 100; Kid Eternity #15; More Fun Comics #65, 73, & 76; Sensation Comics #66 & 71; and more, plus stories from the Silver Age, too.

Collects Wanted #1-9;  from the Silver Age, Green Lantern #1 & 33; The Flash #114 & 121. Plus these, also from the Golden Age: Wonder Woman #36, and World's Finest #6 & 111.

Here's the story: in 1972-73, DC began reprinting rare early stories with the first appearances of villains in a 20 cent comic called Wanted. This actually collects all nine issues, with the stories noted above. And as a bonus, three additional stories that could have been a great 10th issue: featuring Catwoman, Mars-God of War, and Black Canary.

The creators here are just too numerous to name, but they are all the best: John Broome, Bill Finger, Lee Elias, Gil Kane, Carmine Infantino, Gardner Fox, William Woolfolk, Jack Burnley, Mort Meskin, Robert Kanigher, Bernard Baily, even Joe Simon & Jack Kirby.

The bonus stories are from 1947, by Kanigher & Infantino; 1949 by  Kanigher and Harry Peter, and from 1954, by David V. Reed and Sheldon Moldoff & Stan Kaye.

This is rare Golden Age (and a bit of Silver Age) material, much of which has not been collected before or was collected and is now out of print...again.

DC even created new covers for the Wanted Series. Murphy Anderson did the cover for #1, and Nick Cardy did all the others. That's the A-Team!

Believe me when I say, this is really a quiet little treasure of great, fun stories.

Printed on a softer, warmer paper than many archives, which gives more the feel of the original comic book appearances. We like this new format
