- Full Description
This tabloid newspaper was a rare meeting of underground and regular comics (if young and aspiring) artists. It lasted just eight issues and today they are rare, due to the odd size (even folded, they were larger than a typical comic) and printed on newsprint. Edited by Kim Deitch, with mostly one-page strips by Jay Lynch (Nard n Pat), Wally Wood assistants Larry Hama and Ralph Reese, S. Clay Wilson (two pages), Mike Kaluta ("Star Child"), Deitch (2-page "Deja Voo"), Roger Brand, Vaughn Bode (Cheech Wizard), and Trina Robbins (Panthea). Cover by Spain, back cover is Harrrison Cady's "The Road to Hell."
The first two issues were edited by Vaughn Bode, the third issue by Bhob Stewart. This was co-edited by Stewart and Kim Deitch. The fun backcover by Cady "has stops along the way for flirting, dancing, smoking, drinking, cards, cussing and horse racing..." Reprinted from its original publication in 1910.
Note: This is an out of print, used and/or rare book. It is not as-new, in "mint" condition. Poor to Fair: complete but for a 1"x2" piece out of the cover, but spine is really tattered, almost split (these were never stapled), all page edges frayed and torn.
