Highly Recommended. By Dobbs. Art by Fabrizio Fiorentino. Based on the original story by H. G. Wells, this graphic novel adaptation, translated from the French album, brings a whole new look to the disturbing and visionary tale. Set adrift in the Pacific Ocean, Edward Prendick is rescued only to find himself on the strange remote island of Dr. Moreau. Moreau has been conducting bizarre experiments for years, genetically modifying animals to give them each a conscience and the ability to speak. These “Beastmen” obey a very precise set of rules called The Law, which forbids them to exhibit any primitive behavior and commands that they worship Dr. Moreau like a god.

Good solid artwork
Companion to this is The Time Machine. I didn’t know Dr. Moreau as well, so I was eager to read this. I found it both a good read and suitably creepy, with good solid artwork. Again, this was first done in France as a graphic album.
