iZombie co-creator Chris Roberson teams with Mike Mignola and a gaggle of artists to explore the horror and intrigue of Hellboy's early Cold War years. No longer a rookie, Hellboy is joined by other Bureau agents in a series of far-flung mysteries that take them searching for yetis terrorizing an Arctic research team, into the American suburbs where a family is haunted by a phantom monkey, and to Hong Kong, where demons are drawn to a Chinese artifact. Nazis with flying saucers? Oh, yes indeed.

The first story is really a gas. Hellboy is off to the Arctic for a mystery that looks like a homage to The Thing, with something big and fast and nasty killing our intrepid scientists. But that's all a ruse, and Hellboy finds himself facing an old Nazi foe who is ready to create a new world order, aided by flying saucers that they have cloned from a real alien saucer that came down in the arctic. And Hellboy is going to help provide the go-power for those slick flying ships.

Great stuff! Another really fun read with new stories.

This is the 3rd Volume in the Hellboy and B.P.R.D series, following 1952, and 1953. This collects Hellboy and the BPRD: 1954 - Black Sun #1-2, The Unreasoning Beast, Ghost Moon #1-2
