- Full Description
Here it is--what may be for many their very favorite Classics adaptation--it is for me. The Time Machine is a science fiction tale by H.G. Wells, published in 1895, which eventually became a wonderful film that many of us grew up with. It is one of the greatest works of science fiction ever created and here it's beautifully drawn by craftsman Lou Cameron.
After inventing a machine that moves through time, the Traveler leaves Victorian London and goes far into the future. The world he discovers seems calm and quiet but as the Traveler looks below the surface he realizes that things are not exactly as they appear.
William B. Jones (Classics Illustrated: A Cultural History) provides a highly detailed introduction and history of this classic, complete with a picture of Verne and of the first book edition.
