The Classics Illustrated comic book series began in 1941 with its first issue, Alexandre Dumas’ The Three Musketeers, and has since included over 200 classic tales released around the world. This new CCS Books edition is specifically tailored to engage and educate young readers with some of the greatest works ever written, while still thrilling older readers who have fond memories of this series.
Jones is the author of Classics Illustrated: A Cultural History. Previously we have handled only Classics Comics reprints from publisher Jack Lake. But this new publisher is doing new titles never reprinted by Jack Lake. They are based in England, and nicely enough, are adding new content in the form of biographies, timelines, discussion questions for readers, etc. They also are now using the original Classics Illustrated banner.
