Duncan Fegredo's five covers are a highlight of this collection, here incorporated as chapter breaks. Powerful, imaginative images of Tarzan and the Apes. This is essentially an alternate history that explains the origins of the takeover of the earth by the apes, and who better to be involved than the original Ape-Man himself. It's an extraordinary story, that even has flashbacks from the adult Tarzan back to his youth when all he knew was the world of apes and the jungle. Nicely done!
