Chilling Archives of Horror Comics #20 Recommended. Art by Nick Cardy, Joe Kubert, Carmine Infantino et al. These are really bargain priced, when you think about it. 144 full color pages in hardcover, discounted to just over 20 bucks! Far less expensive than typical Archives editions! Haunted Love is the unholy spawn of Haunted Horror and Weird Love! An essential collection for any comic horror fan. This is horror with a heart―a beating, bloody one at that―with clear homages to the narrative construction of American horror literature, particularly H.P. Lovecraft and Edgar Allan Poe, in the tales of sinister romance.

Stories include "Crawling Evil," "The Dead Are Never Lonely," "Love Me Forever," "The Marriage of the Monsters," "Tour of Horror," "Curse of the Fire-Bird," etc.

Kenneth Landau (a regular and bizarre, fun artist at ACG), Bill Savage, Ralph Mayo, John Celardo (Fiction House regular and artist for the Tarzan newspaper strips in the 1950s), the Iger Shop, Bud Thompson (Fawcett regular on Captain Marvel, Jr--now doing horror!), Ken Bald et al.

A wide swath of the best pre-code comics companies and titles are represented here, from ACG and Superior, to Harvey, Standard and Ace. Nice variety of art by some surprising talent.

Haunted Love is a fun, dark, and devilish exploration of love within horror―a fascinating look at the social and cultural representations of 1950s America through the uncensored medium of comics.” ―Big Comic Page

“This is the stuff that made people burn comics in the ‘50s. This is the good stuff!” ―Comic Wow
