Outstanding other-worldly artwork by Jim Starlin captures the classic Ditko magic. The Master of the Mystic Arts crosses into the Quadriverse. Chaos has been unleashed as the universe goes mad. Writer Roger Stern has even more frightening horrors to unveil, as an elder god marshals Nightmare, D'Spayre, and the Dream Weaver to twist reality -- and rend Strange and lovely Clea's souls with inconceivable fears!

Only with the return of the Ancient One can Doctor Strange hope to restore order to creation, but he'll have to conquer the cosmic might of the In-Between. Also featuring mystic encounters with Nighthawk, Namor the Sub-Mariner, the Avengers and the Black Knight -- and the return of a figure from one of Doctor Strange's first adventures!

Inker Rudy Nebres is here on Tom Sutton's pencils, and it's as lush and rich work as we find with Jim Starlin. Doctor Strange is always fun because he's not bound by earthly constraints, but his adventures can move from our world into other dimensions, and characters can be as weird as the writer's imagination...not terribly unlike Neil Gaiman's Sandman at times. There's also work here by the great Gene Colan. A very nice run of issues.

Bonus: includes reprints of Chamber of Chills #3 and #4 from 1973. Written here in a rare Marvel appearance by Gardner Fox, of DC fame, and drawn by Ernie Chan and Howard Chaykin, these two tales introduced the characters Marcia Trent, Murdoch Adams, and the demon Ningal. Roger Stern picked up these interesting characters and made them part of the Doctor Strange adventures.

Also bonus features of original house ads, cover sketches by Frank Brunner and John Byrne, and artist bios. Other contributors include Ernie Chan, Alan Kupperberg, Don McGregor, Al Milgrom, Ricardo Villamonte and Marv Wolfman.
