The panoramic artwork looks like it was designed for this large size. It reminds us of those semilnal graphic novels by Philippe Druillet, Yragael, etc. A tale told on a large scale. Now that I flip through again, it even makes me think of Hal Foster's stunning Prince Valiant pages, that beg to be seen in a large format such as this. The artist even uses the huge double page spreads to great value.

"Elric, Origins of a Legend" is a long Afterword by William Blanc. He takes us back to the iconic fantasy novels by C.S. Lewis and Tolkien that were to influence Moorcock, who was born in 1939 amidst the chaos of World War II.
