Details

In 2005, the well-respected publisher Atomeka published a Mr. Monster Special--spoofing Watchman with it's original creators doing cool Mr. Monster stories: Alan Moore doing one, Dave Gibbons a second, and THREE more stories--all in full color. A very handsome softcover on glossy paper with super printing. With a small print run, it sold out immediately--but Michael Gilbert found a lost stash--and now adds am oversized, full color bookplate, almost as large as the comic, signed & limited to 200!

Stories are: "Riddle of the Reluctant Refuse" by Moore, "Babs: File M for Monster" by Gilbert & Glines; "The Old Curiosity Shoppe" by Gilbert and Giffen; "Revenge of the Boneless Man" by Gilbert, and "Wish You Were Here" by Gilbert and Gibbons! This was originally published at $6.99--in 2005 of course. But with the extra bookplate, limitation and signature, and out of print status, Michael and we agreed this should be a nice little collectible for Mr. Monster fans.

The fully painted cover is by Alex Horley and there's also work here by Keith Giffin, Shane Glines, Bill Loebs, and a full color backcover by Shane White. Even Gilbert wasn't able to get more than a few comp copies back when this came out. Now, you can get one with this very cool bookplate and a full-size drawing of Mr. Monster. MM is a fan favorite and also one of our own favorite comics, a wonderful parody of monster comics and fanatical superheroes that hits all the right notes. Enjoy!
