Closeout Price! Collects #28-33, 1954. Highly Recommended. Written and drawn by Dick Briefer. While earlier issues were pure humor, here Frankenstein continues, and in fact concludes the complete run. It's now entirely a dark, sinister turn into pure horror. I particularly like these stories, as the mute monster relentlessly deals out harsh, final justice to anyone who wishes him ill. He also became a silent judge-and-jury when he finds others persecuted or wronged, and never hesitates to mete out violent justice! He's the man!

Each issue also includes two back-up stories, horror tales typical of the horror comics genre before the code came along. There's work by artists Mort Meskin, Marvin Stein (several), and lots of unknowns. Poor Frankenstein, when he's not killing deserving bad guys, he also encounters all manner of other monsters and creatures not as well-balanced as he is!

Donald Glut provides another informative introduction, pointing out that while this series was ending, it was certainly far from the final bow from the monster. He includes a never-before-published page, and more recent incarnations of our sad hero. Last volume in the collection.
