As a bonus, this features Everett's second (of several) maritime superhero: The Fin. His origin and final second story from Daring Mystery #7 & 8 are hidden gems of the Golden Age, as beautifully drawn as any Subby story.

New introduction by Roy Thomas.

Marvel proudly presents Timely's Greatest, a series of once-in-a-lifetime volumes presenting the greatest stories of the Golden Age, when Marvel was known as Timely Comics!

Bud here: I have been a huge fan of Bill Everett for many years, and his Sub-Mariner work is just head and shoulders above so much else in the Golden Age. Only Schomberg and Jack Kirby, Mac Raboy and Jack Cole, plus a few other names can be up there with Bill's fine work. And instead of cliched stories, these were DIFFERENT. The original Sub-Mariner was indeed an anti-hero, a villain in the beginning. He often fought The Human Torch to a standstill in epic battles that are still amongst the favorite tales of the Golden Age. This is a dream come true for comic fans...a huge, massive book finally offering us a full chronological set of all these early stories in one place.

You could not buy even ONE of the original comics for the price of this omnibus...each of these comics is massively collected and even beater copies will run you well over $500-$750 for one issue, nicer copies are into a thousand dollars and up.
