This features The Mighty Thor, one of the early Marvel key characters and a favorite of both Stan and Jack. All the grandeur and energy that infused Kirby's work is evident here. Classic complete stories are included from Journey Into Mystery #111, #117, #118, #134, #135 and Thor Annual #2, and more, plus a beautiful gallery section! Jack Kirby was the most important and influential artist in comics history and co-created much of the Marvel Universe.

His legendary characters include Captain America, The Fantastic Four, The X-Men, The Incredible Hulk, Ant-Man, Iron Man, The Silver Surfer, and so many others--as writer, artist, innovator, his legacy is unparalleled.

Inkers include Joe Sinnott, Dick Ayers, George Roussos, Chic Stone and Vince Colletta.

But Thor held a special place for both men. They not only got a contemporary hero, but the entire stable of Norse legends and gods to work with, from evil Loki and loyal Baldur, to his father Odin and lovely Sif, the mighty gate-keepers of Asgard, and much more. Here is a superb collection of work, from the very earliest stories in Journey Into Mystery #83-85, to the masterpieces inked by Vince Colletta in the 'teens, twenties and thirties numbers of JIM and Thor.

Includes ten complete splash pages, ten assorted covers (from #132-152), and assorted pages from #83 to #141.

They had fun with this, and it showed in the quality of the work. Hercules even showed up for a Norse/Greek gods cross-over! And Thor became one of the first Avengers, right from the start. Good stuff! And it's huge, before they reduced the size of the Marvel original art. This is twice up size, it's damned impressive!!!
