For the last six years Hermes Press has been reprinting the daily version of Frank Robbins' masterpiece, Johnny Hazard. Now after scouring collections all over the world for a set of the color tabloid Sundays, Hermes Press presents an archival, full size reprint of these exciting Sunday stories -- 133 Sundays in sequence. Plus 26 pages of special features, from character original art, full size, to a look at Robbin's work at DC and at Marvel Comics by Roy Thomas, and a Foreword, "A Look at One of the Great," by Howard Chaykin.

Daniel Hermes allso looks back at Robbins' work. Frank began his career emulating Milton Caniff and Terry and the Pirates, as you will see here, but the style and the strip quickly became his own. One of the great "air adventure" strips, this was all about action in the air, dangerous adventures in wartime situations around the world, and great adventures.

Stories incluce "Just Another Day in the Air Force," "Searching for Brandy," "Balinese Dancing Idol," "Searching for the Metal Lighter than Air," and "The Java Sea Pirate." Like Terry, this series had its share of beautiful, show-stopping ladies, from Vava Lavoum, Baroness Flame, Sequin, the feisty blonde bombshell Miss Pandora, Pixie, Sabina Eden, and lady Air Force pilot Kitty Hawkes. These gals are nearly all pictured in large, full size original artwork.

Believed by many to be in the same league as the best Sundays of the period, these stories read like a motion picture from the era and feature characters that are truly classics. This special limited edition has the look, feel and size of the original Sundays and is accompanied by historical material, essays and original artwork.

Rpy Thomas' feature includes great large reproductions of Robbins' cover for The Shadow #5, 1974 and the original artwork for pages from Giant-Sized Invaders #1, 1975. The Invaders #14 and 17, 1977, a page from Captain America #187, 1975 and another from Power Man #34, 1976, and a page from Fear #31, 1975.

Very handsome
