Description

Shang-Chi: Master of Kung Fu easily ranks as one of the most iconic series in Marvel history. Doug Moench and Paul Gulacy’s blend of kung-fu action and globe-trotting espionage raised the already high standard set by the title, and in this second volume, believe it or not, it gets even better! The cinematic Hong Kong showdown with Shen Kuei, the Cat; the tense “Oriental Expediters;” the mystery of MI-6’s mole; the sweeping scale of “The Return of Fu Manchu”; the epic “Saga of War-Yore.”

660 pages of stories of action, intrigue and drama, and none has ever looked better than in this painstakingly restored Omnibus. Dr. Doom puts in an appearance, and there is a fair list of pretty ladies, as only Gulacy can draw them.

Bonus: 9 pages of original artwork for covers and interior pages by Paul Gulacy.

New cover by John Cassady and Paul Mounts, included in the bonus section sans titles and text. Nice work. Also includes the letters pages for every single issue, with missives from the likes of writers Mike Baron and Don McGregor, actor Ralph Macchio, and former Eclipse publisher and now IDW’s primary collections producer Dean Mullaney. It was quite the forum for feedback, long before the internet, and shows how highly respected this series was.

Also includes covers by Gil Kane and inking by Dan Adkins, Mike Esposito, Tom Sutton, Pablo Marcos, Jim Mooney, Fred Kida and others, and art assists from Sal Buscema, Keith Pollard, and Pat Broderick.
