Eighty years! Eighty legendary creators! All in one sensational hardcover! In celebration of Marvel’s 80th anniversary, they gathered together the greatest array of talent ever to be assembled between two covers! Names from the past, from the present and even the future! Every page is filled with all-new work from this cavalcade of comic book luminaries, tackling one-page stories covering dozens of Marvel characters, from Black Bolt to Wolverine and everyone in between!

A mystery threads throughout the Marvel Universe – one that began in Marvel Comics #1 and unites a disparate array of heroes and villains throughout the decades! What is the Eternity Mask? And who is responsible for the conspiracy to keep it hidden? As secrets are peeled away, answers await the entirety of the Marvel Universe! The landmark event is collected together with an awesome assortment of bonus features!

This even includes Marvel’s western heroes!

There’s variant covers by Mike Deodato & Romuto Fajardo, Patrick Gleason, Marte Gracia (double page), Joe Quesada, Kevin Nowland & Richard Isanove, Mark Buckingham, Skottie Young, J. Scott Campbell, Ed McGuinness & Val Staples, Greg Hildebrandt, InHyuk Lee, Ron Lim, Julian Tedesco, Mark Brooks and a host of others. The book cover itself is by Alex Ross, with a cool second different image on the hardcover itself, inside the jacket.

This is very interesting…each creator or team takes on a hero and does a complete-in-itself one page story, each representing a year of Marvel history–such as Thor in 1985 Howard the Duck in 1986, Groot in 1960, The Hulk in 1959 (Alex Ross draws this, too), Spidey in 1962, Blade in 1972, Adam Warlock in 1968, the Black Rider in 1948, Captain America in 1944, Marvel Boy in 1950, The Black Knight in 1955, Miss America in 1943, and, of course, The Human Torch kicks it all off in 1939.

Looks like a fun read, this one’s going home with me.
