Here’s some more names, all covered in this second volume (along with the ones above): Rod Serling, Gilbert Shelton, Clark Ashton Smith; Bill Watterson, Jay Ward, Jules Verne, Steven Spielberg, Siegel & Shuster, Mary Shelley, J.K. Rowling, Big Daddy Roth by Shag, Gene Roddenberry, Anne Rice, Seabury Quinn, Edgar Allan Poe, George Pal, George Orwell, Willis O’Brien, Dan O’Bannon, Rudyard Kipling, Stanley Kubrick, Alan Moore, Miyazaki et al.

Pete Von Sholly has put this all together, and he has illustrated every entry with an appropriate painting of each creator surrounded by their creations. I wish this was not so expensive, but it was published in England and probably in a relatively small edition, by PS Artbooks, who we know as the compiler of all the Pre-Code comics archives.

He’s done a fantastic job here. Here’s his own description:

“The “Fictioneers Project” which has culminated in these two wonderful books has a long history but mainly I just wanted to celebrate a special group of men and women who made indelible marks on our collective and individual consciousness and whose works stand as milestones in the history of fiction in culture. It couldn’t be just my personal lesser known favorites, if it was going to be a history so there were obligatory entries like Walt Disney, Steven Spielberg, Ursula Le Guin, Rod Serling, Gene Roddenberry and so on.” – Pete Von Sholly
