Description

Collected from the renowned and long-running Italian graphic novel series, circa 2012. and stunning artwork by maestro Stefano Andreucci, whose style reminds us of Nick Cardy, Jose Salinas, Warren Tufts—even hints of Frazetta—this guy is outstanding and reproduction, on glossy paper, is abosolutely crystal clear. I’m really impressed with this, both story and artwork. Here is Tex in his younger, pre-ranger, outlaw days — framed for the crime he did not commit, he will stop at nothing to clear his name, and in the process he will both teach and learn some hard-won life lessons. Massive 244 pages.

Artist Andreucci is also known for his work on Zagor: Terror from the Sea. We like his clean style, it also makes us think of the work of Warren Tufts on Lance.

Includes an introduction by Graziano Frediani, a look at the artist with an interview and ten spot illustrations from his other works, and “As Robin Hood” by Luca Barbieri, who examines the western genre of the 1870s, the mythology as translated in comics, with several more illustrations over several pages. Bios of all the creators.

The primary Tex writer and the editor of the series is Mauro Boselli, who has written the stories in this volume. He is a top drawer writer and the translation is very good. Good characterization.
