Description

The strip debuted in 1924 and here are the complete daily strips through 1927, featuring the trials and tribulations of the kid with a heart of gold and a quick left hook. Includes biographical essay by Jeet Heer and a wonderfully quirky set of the first Sunday pages. Annie rode the rails with tramps and hobos, outwitted tommy-gun wielding gangsters and much more!

This is her roots, first meeting Daddy Warbucks and Punjab, and slowly adding characters who would often become regulars over the decades. But first she had to survive countless tribulations. Gray wrote this strip for 44 years and put his spunky orphan through a world of trouble. Now back in print.
