We picked up one issue of this, spoofing an early issue of Smash Comics (the cover feature here) with dear old Bozo the Robot. And so I was very glad to see a compilation of the first six issues finally announced. He covers it all…there’s Wolverton Space Hawk AND Atlas horror, there’s sword and sorcery, there’s great spoofs on love comics (they are so ripe for this). If you aren’t afraid to make fun of our hallowed Golden Age and Pre-Code (there’s a special horror comics issue), then take a look at this.

There’s also stories here by Wally Wood and Myron Fass. Check out Conad the Aryan Barbarian in A Pain in the Asp, The Strange Case of the Lethal Sleepover, My Love Came C.O.D., Joe Kubert’s Hollywood and Gomorrah: The Rise & Fall of George Locus, Jack Kirby’s Planet of the Pooches, Wolverton’s The Strange Adventures of Randy Rocket, Don’t Bogart that Nightmare, and Girl of My Screams, Hank Fletcher’s Starbux: Super Space God of Vengeance…and that’s just a few choice tales.
