They did two complete sets, in 1992 and 1994.

Greg and Tim Hildebrandt, collectively known as the Brothers Hildebrandt, were at the forefront of fantasy illustration for decades. In the 1970s their wildly popular and universally acclaimed J. R. R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings calendars helped to reintroduce new generations to this seminal fantasy work. Over the decades, the Brothers have created iconic images for Star Wars, Harry Potter, Magic The Gathering, and much more. More recently, Greg has been producing new work for an annual calendar of retro pin-up art, which we handle every year.

The X-Men 2099 graphic novel was written by John Francis Moore.

FREE GIFT: We used to handle fantasy art cards in the 1980s and 1990s — we’d make up complete “factory packs.” So we always had leftover, mixed cards. We have enough to make up a limited number of sets of ten assorted cards, from the  complete set of 55 or so. These are from the Marvel Masterpieces Limited Edition card set from 1994. Each card has bonus gold embossing and features a Marvel hero or heroine, with bio details on the reverse side. We’re including this with each book, while our supply lasts.
