- Full Description
A new edition of the return of Tarzan in this 1999 epic, by the Hugo Award-winning author of the incredible Riverworld saga. Tarzan, Lord of the Apes, returns with a vengeance in this (at the time) brand-new, action-packed adventure by Philip José Farmer. Jane is kidnapped and the trail leads to a bizarre, long-forgotten land of strange and terrifying mysteries: the City Built by God, the Hideous Hunter, the One to Avoid, and most shocking, the Crystal Tree of Time--whose seductive powers could spell Tarzan's doom.
The furious ape-man will let nothing stand in the way of rescuing Jane--not even a sinister safari whose target is Tarzan himself. With fierce Masai trackers leading the chase, a trio of white hunters is hellbent on capturing the Jungle Lord. But as the pursuers close in from behind, Tarzan races toward even greater danger ahead.
Philip José Farmer is a three time Hugo Award-winner and Nebula Grand Master. One of his first loves was the Tarzan series, and he first wrote of Tarzan in his notorious A Feast Unknown in the 1960s. This includes a new foreword by longtime Burroughs scholar Robert R. Barrett, and a new introduction by Farmer expert Win Scott Eckert.
This hardcover edition has a heavy-stock jacket, with a detail from the front cover art reproduced on the back cover (the paperback does not include this). Handsome blue cloth binding.
