Tales of a mature battle-hardened Sonja atop the throne, dealing with threats from the outside and within. Bonus story and dozens of variant covers.

Before she was a warrior, Red Sonja was a wild child in the Hyrkanian wilderness; before she ruled the empire of Emora, she thieved on the streets of Pah-Disha.

"Know also, O prince, that in the selfsame days that the Cimmerian did stalk the Hyborian Kingdoms, one of the few swords worthy to cross with his was that of Red Sonja, warrior-woman out of majestic Hyrkania. Forced to flee her homeland because she spurned the advances of a king and slew him instead, she rode west across the Turanian steppes and into the shadowed mists of legendry." - The Nemedian Chronicles

Includes 25 variant covers by Mel Rubi, Jackson Herbert, and Carlos Rafael. Also, five pages of Rubi's pencils for issue #1. And my favorite bonus is a ten-page Red Sonja story that looks like it's from either a vintage Marvel comic or a Warren magazine, but I can find no credits for it anywhere. It looks like it's by one of the Spanish illustrators, such as Maroto and it is exquisite. Someone tell me who drew this! I've included a scan from it here.

Ortega wrote the first ten issues and Lieberman wrote the last five.
