- Full Description
The first book publication of the second Shadow novel, first published in the second issue of THE SHADOW, July 1931, the issue in which Lamont Cranston makes his debut. "THE SHADOW, first published in [April] 1931, was the first of the trend setting pulp magazines built around a single character.” This item is not a pulp magazine but a book published by the same publisher as that of the magazine, who did a second Shadow and also a Doc Savage in the admittedly inexpensive, low quality format. As such, it’s hard today to find copies in much better than Good condition.
Note: This is an out of print, used and/or rare book. It is not as-new, in "mint" condition. Good. Pages yellowed from age. Water stains on the cover, and damage to the top of the spine. Pages are starting to break away from the binding. Cover may be a variant coloring, but more likely is faded, losing the blue colors we see on other copies.
