MARVEL MASTERWORKS The Invincible Iron Man Volume 10
- Product Review (submitted on January 28, 2017):
- Over 40 years ago, I bought Iron Man 77, the conclusion of the so-called War of the Super Villains. I wanted to read the entire saga, so when this became available, I placed an order. While not perfect (writer Mike Friedrich concurs that his original concept would have been grander) it is generally enjoyable with Iron Man caught between foes battling for a great prize offered by a mysterious fellow called the Black Lama. The saga is occasionally weighed down by heavy handedness and clumsy political satire (Relevance--the blessing and curse of 1970's comics). There is an issue set at San Diego's Comic-Con, when it was still a young phenomenon. Overall, I'd recommend it to people with an interest in the comics of that era.
