- Full Description
From Chris Ware, the brilliant and beloved author of Jimmy Corrigan: The Smartest Kid on Earth and Building Stories. From childhood to old age, the entangled stories of a child who awakens without superpowers, a teen who matures into a paternal despot, a father who stores his emotional regrets on the surface of Mars and a late-middle-aged woman who seeks the love of only one other person on planet Earth. Ware's trademark superlative design and zillions of panels offer an intimate look at these and more.
Rusty Brown is a fully interactive, full-color articulation of the time-space interrelationships of three complete consciousnesses in the first half of a single mid-western American day. A sprawling accumulation of the biggest themes and the smallest moments of life, Rusty Brown literately and literally aims at nothing less than the coalescence of existence into a single museum-quality picture story.
The dust jacket opens up to twice sized, with a sci-fi scene on one side, and breakdowns of Ware-centric bird's eye view of the rooms where the action takes place, houses and his typical symbolic bits of ephemera. There's little use describing Ware's work, you really have to just dig in and immerse yourself in it, no one in comics does it like he does.
Occasional nudity and adult themes.
