In the 1950s, small-town soap opera stories meant for a romance-hungry female audience with newfound economic clout saturated all forms of entertainment, ranging from movies to the Sunday funnies. But even for the boys, "there was something exciting about the artwork..Like many, I had a secret crush on Eve..." And no one drew beautiful women like Drake, while Jones had an uncanny ability to get into dangerous adventures that every newspaper strip fan would appreciate.

Classic Comics Press presents the most romantic and dramatic comic strip from that era. This is the first volume of four that encompasses Drake's entire 30-plus years on The Heart of Juliet Jones.

Includes a never-before-reprinted eight-month two-story sequence.

Drake got his start in the advertising world and was as successful as it gets until he had a falling out with the co-owner of Johnstone and Cushman...the same agency where Neal Adams cut his teeth. Drake moved on into comic books with cohorts like Bob Lubbers and his soon-to-be studio-mate, Leonard Starr, with whom he would eventurally collaborate on four novels in the Kelly Green series. As Starr was drawing Mary Perkins on Stage, Drake was just as busy with Juliet!

Also featured is a biographical essay on Stan Drake by Armando Mendez and an introduction by award-winning cartoonist and lifelong Stan Drake friend, Leonard Starr. Second Printing.
