$25.95
Dailies, 1957-59. Highly Recommended. By Rod Reed. Art by José Luis Salinas. Classic Comics Press continues its reprinting of the complete run of The Cisco Kid with an introduction by Zoran Djukanovic. While the television show of the Cisco Kid is often spoofed, the opposite is true of this strip itself. It is held in the highest regard, and many veteran comics artists and fans are glad to add this to their library. Fine penciling and brush work are Salinas hallmarks on this amazing strip, and he uses larger panels to portray action with amazing detail. Several strips are reproduced from the original art, which is even more impressive.

Eight complete storylines, including The Black Ghost, Trigger's Duels, and Sinbad's Revenge.

"The Astonishing Visual Narration of the Cisco Kid" is the title of the foreword, which offers us six pages of analysis, and five dailies reproduced from the original art, plus three more works that include an unfinished Sunday page (?) with a nautical swashbuckler, Hernan el Corsario. The Afterword discusses source material, credits and what's ahead.

"The Cisco Kid is not remembered for the stories but because of the authentic genius of Salinas. His visual narration goes far beyond the boundaries of the story. Within the dimension of visual narration he creates an unforgettable Western epic." -Zoran Djukanovic
