More than one hundred of the strangest sidekicks in comics history, complete with backstories, vintage art, and colorful commentary. Forgotten helpers like Thunderfoot (explosive-soled assistant to the Human Bomb), super-pets like Frosting (polar bear pal of space hero Norge Benson), fan favorites like Rick Jones (sidekick to half of the Marvel Universe), and obscure partners of iconic heroes (Superman Junior? Really!?). Includes pernicious profiles of henchmen and minions, the sidekicks of the supervillain world. Casual comics readers and diehard enthusiasts alike will relish the hilarious commentary and vintage art from obscure old comics.
Dozens upon dozens...upon dozens...of the strangest sidekicks who ever appeared, sometimes in one lone story, other times through an entire series. Here are Bingo, Bumper and Butch, Fatman and Kid Tyrant and Midge, the Dollman's unwanted helper. The Raven, Stampy, Unggh and of course, Plastic Man's dumb buddy, Woozy Winks. And that's just highlights of Part 1, covering the Golden Age.
We go on to the Silver Age, with Ani-Man, Edam and Gouda, Gaggy, Little Ambrose, Magicmaster, Pepper, The Super Apes, Tabu, Volstagg the Voluminous and Zook.
Then it's Modern Age time, with two dozen more weirdos: The 8-Ball Gang, The F-Men, Jackdaw, Moon-Boy, Rusty the Boy Robot (remember him?), Stogie and Hoagy, and finally, Walter the Wobot. Each character gets a hilarious full look, with origins, highlights, covers and story pages and more. Hours of the strangest comics ever at your fingertips.
