- Full Description
In 1972, Wallace Wood created Shattuck, a rarely seen Western comic strip, assisted by soon-to-be great cartoonists Dave Cockrum (X-Men) and Howard Chaykin (Star Wars, Punisher). Full of gun-toting femmes fatale, often unclothed, fast-drawing lawmen, and snarling outlaws, this spurs 'n' saddles romp will remind you of Cannon, Wood's no-holds-barred sex and violence romp of a few years later.
Also here is a brief history of the strip at the end of the book with a nod to his co-writer Nicola Cuti and his artist assistants Dave Cockrum, Howard Chaykin and a mention of legendary artists of Timely's Captain America. Syd Shores and Jack Abel and respect for their talent. This section also includes small examples of artwork/inking by Syd Shore, Joe Staton, Jack Abel, Cockrum, with quotes by Cuti, Cockrum, Abel and Chaykin, as well as very brief bios of each of those writers/artists.
