A volume in tribute to the late Bob Weinberg -- a legendary writer, collector and dealer. You've got to have affected a lot of lives to get a 260-page book about you when you weren't a renowned author or artist, but Weinberg was a cornerstone of fantasy, pulp, and sci-fi collecting and here we find out just why. Contains “A Dream of Mars”, “My Life in Fantasy” and the 13-part “Collecting Fantasy Art” by Bob Weinberg, as well as tributes by friends and family and lots of wonderful art in black & white, culled from one of the finest collections in existence.

The book itself is designed just like a classic Weird Tales pulp, from the color cover, to the contents pages, and the type and layout. It's a perfect tribute. The cover is by Douglas Klauba, "after" a painting by Virgil Finlay.

Here you will find many wonderful Virgil Finlay pieces--Weinberg had one of the largest collections of his work, and co-authored the recent Collector's Book of Virgil Finlay, now out of print. Also here is exceptional work by Kelly Freas, Josh Kirby, Michael Whelan, Randy Broecher, Margaret Brundage (a nude mermaid!) and more relatively unknown artists than you can imagine. Plus pictures of Walter Gibson, Harvey Kurtzman, loads of famous fans and publishers, great pulp covers. And most important, anecdotes and stories about being one of the prime movers of the collecting and dealing world, about pulp and book collections, meeting artists, scoring rare finds.

Put together by Bob's wife Phyllis and many long term friends and fellow dealers, this is the THE tribute book to a legend of our collecting world. Back cover color portrait of Bob by Weird Tales artist Jon Arfstrom.
