Sensation Comics #49-69, Wonder Woman #16-25, and Comics Cavalcade #14-22, 1947-49. Highly Recommended. By Joye Murchison. Art by Harry G. Peter. More than 600 pages of never-before-collected stories. In these tales, Wonder Woman and the Holiday Girls accidentally land on the planet Mercury, where they are taken prisoner by a race of giantesses; Professor Chemico plans to melt the polar ice caps, threatening the existence of the snow people who live there; Wonder Woman is shrunk to microscopic size; and MUCH more! Wild stories written by Joyce Murchison and others, like little else in comics at the time! Featuring a plethora of strange villains, from The Cheeta, the origin, first and second appearance of The Huntress, and Solomon Grundy.

There's often nothing stranger than these stories, written by one of the few female writers in comics at the time. She was hand-picked by creator William Moulton Marsten and carried on the style of stories after his death in 1947. Also here is one of the first stories of WW's childhood. And artist H.G. Peter continues his special style of art. I think many of these covers are true icons of the time, particularly the Comics Cavalcade covers with co-stars The Flash and Green Lantern. But even in her own title and as the star of Sensation Comics, the covers are also a lot of fun.

DC stalwart Robert Kanigher also writes many of the stories here, and there are several by Marston himself--or possibly attributed to him and ghost-written by Joyce.

One of comics' truly iconic characters, Princess Diana of Themyscira--known to most as Wonder Woman--is the world's most popular heroine. Armed with her super-strength, magic lasso, bullet-defying bracelets and invisible plane, she has fought evildoers for over 75 years!

This series has been very popular, since very little of this material has ever been collected before. Each new volume outsells the previous one for us!

Omnibus cover by Frank Cho. Nice long 3-page forward by Andy Mangels
